I work with businesses and organizations on implementing and sustaining mental/emotional wellness in the workplace programs to help reduce burnout, support staff and managers with their mental health, and increase individuals’ satisfaction with integrating their life and work.

Definition:

A collaborative relationship between the consultant (mental health professional) and a consultee (individual or organization) seeking to improve mental/emotional well-being in the workplace. Different consultation models are used (see below) to address individual and systemic challenges that interfere with increased well-being. I specifically work with individuals and teams to manage their mental/emotional experiences in the workplace such as stress reduction, time management, boundaries, anxiety, compassion fatigue, burnout, impacts of trauma, cultural humility, and many other relevant topics.

Consultation Models:

Client-centered case consultation

The consultant focuses on helping the client by assessing their problem and offering treatment recommendations.

Case consults. Working with the consultee, we case-conceptualize a specific issue with one of the consultee’s clients. In a collaborative model, I use my expertise and the consultee’s experiences to develop recommendations.

Consultee-centered case consultation

The consultant focuses on helping the consultee improve their professional skills by identifying and addressing their challenges.

Group and individual consultation. This one-on-one or group approach supports individuals in the workplace to manage their stress, compassion fatigue, burnout, anxiety, depression, or other effects of mental/emotional/physical health challenges. This service does not replace therapy for individuals. The main goal is to increase wellbeing. Workshops, training, group meetings, and individual meetings are common methods utilized.

Program-centered administrative consultation

The consultant helps develop or improve a program by prescribing an effective course of action.

Trauma-Informed Wellness in the Workplace implementation. For organizations that want to implement and sustain an organizational or program-wide wellness program that centers staff’s mental/emotional health and wellbeing. I provide training, recommendations, and ongoing support for wellness program creation.

Consultee-centered administrative consultation

The consultant helps the consultee understand and address difficulties they encounter when implementing a new program.

Reflective consultation for administrative personnel (managers, supervisors, directors, administrative support, etc.). Working with all levels of the program/organization to support the process of implementing and sustaining a mental/emotional wellness program.
