BEGIN YOUR healing JOURNEY.

individual counseling

Struggling with life transitions and your emotions is difficult but finding relief and gaining emotional equilibrium doesn't have to be.

If you've been feeling overwhelmed, stressed, anxious, depleted, or depressed about the many compounding issues in your life and are wanting to feel some relief, I'll help you get a sense of the issues in your life to help shed light on the areas you are seeking wellness. In today's society, we are constantly being pulled in multiple directions and being told that we can "have it all", but we often find that to "have it all" we must sacrifice too much. You're not alone in these feelings.

Practice details

I currently work virtually through telehealth services (videocalls). I do not currently offer in-person sessions. If you are interested in telehealth sessions you are required to be in the state of Oregon for all sessions due to licensing requirements.

who i work with

I work with individual adults 18 years and older. Most of my clients range in age from 18 to 55 years. I work with a variety of individuals from various backgrounds.

My practice is affirming of all identities and the ways those identities intersect within a person’s life. I work collaboratively with all clients to have their stories and voices heard, accepted and empowered.

my specialties

Personal growth and trauma healing

One of my greatest joys is to see individuals grow in the many different ways that help them feel fulfilled and to live with purpose. I help support individuals in making small steps towards change as well as supporting them through major life transitions. Support for personal growth includes processing grief, change, and transitions. We also dive into discovering where we have been as a way of understanding ourselves now and charting a new future.

parenting wounds from our past and current/future parenting practices - attachment styles

Whether you have been hurt by how you were parented or are experiencing trouble in your own parenting practices, there is relief to be found from counseling. I have been working with parents for several years on skill building, creating and securing an Attachment, and learning attunement with their children. I work with parents individually and within groups. I am also a firm believer that how we are parented greatly impacts our lives. I work with adults who are looking to heal their wounds around how they were parented, helping them to re-parent themselves in healthy ways.

loss or grief

Much of my work focuses on the loss and grief individuals experience throughout their lives. Life transitions, both positive and negative, carry with them some level of loss and grief and I help individuals process those and work toward creating balance in their lives as they experience these losses.

Telehealth Counseling Therapy Portland

“In today’s America, we tend to think of healing as something binary: either we’re broken or we’re healed from that brokenness. But that’s not how healing operates, and it’s almost never how human growth works. More often, healing and growth take place on a continuum, with innumerable points between utter brokenness and total health.”

Black Therapist Portland Oregon

My work with children and families in various capacities for over 20 years has helped me learn that human connection is a conduit of healing. When there is a lack of connection, humans can feel despair, helplessness, fear, hopelessness, anxiety, and depression.

Attachment disruptions, trauma, and lack of emotional attunement can create wounds that are felt for a lifetime. When those wounds go left untreated they can create problems and distress in our lives in the here and now. Healing those wounds become part of the process of gaining wellness, repairing relationships, and becoming fulfilled versions of ourselves.

I specialize in Attachment and trauma work with adults to heal their Attachment disruptions and wounds.

I am currently under supervision. My supervisor is Ghassan Ammar, LPC

Good Faith Estimate

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost.

Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.

  • You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.

  • Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.

  • If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.

  • Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call 800-985-3059.

insurance

Not currently accepting any insurance.

Healing Centered Therapy does not accept any insurance as insurance companies often dictate the number of visits or modalities used. Any change in insurance can also create a gap in care. It is important to me that the therapeutic relationship, continuity of care, individual choice, and personal empowerment are prioritized in my practice.

I am happy to discuss further this policy if you have any questions.
